Regular Dress Me GC Followers will know that I love summer. I love the beach, the long days, the heat, Mrs Giesen, the champagne, the fact that people seem happier in summer and I love bikinis. One day I’d love to look good in bikinis, but I’m lucky to have had 4 kids and that a great excuse for having a big bottom! It’s kind of like my trophy from having 4 kids!
It’s funny how life works. About 20 years ago I would hardly swim because I never wanted to be seen in a bikini – or a one piece for that matter! Now after having 4 kids, I could not care what anyone thought. Life Saver Neighbour & BFF and I walk the block and a bit to the beach in bikinis without a care in the world. I suppose that’s what happens after 40. We have given up worrying about what people think. Between having to wear glasses, hearing aids, and forgetting what happened two hours ago, worrying about what people of me in a bikini is at the bottom of the list. So back to Summer. Because it’s pretty warm here on the GC, a bikini is what I wear most days when I am at home (during the holidays and week ends). I have bought a few pairs this Summer and I still have last Summers bikinis, although they are getting a bit loose in the surf, so they are for pool swimming only. The best swimmers I have ever bought are the Seafolly Bandwave Tank and Hipster bottoms. They are like a sports bra and undies. They are so comfortable and don’t fall off in the surf. I’ve just spent 5 nights camping and water-skiing and they are perfect for that too. I bought mine at Sunburn at Marina Mirage and can’t fault them. The colours go with anything too.
