Brace yourselves Dress Me GC-ers, I am heading back to Japan! Yes I know you are sick of hearing about my last trip nearly two years ago, but this time it’s all about me – and my big sister (it was our brothers Wedding last trip)! Jetstar has a two for one deal so I’ve convinced her that we can see our little brother and his beautiful wife, meet our niece and shop our hearts out.
The Hijack Shopper; our little sister Lisa, is going at a later date, so I may get those boots after all! Just in time for Australian Summer on the GC! Perfect timing!
My apologies to new readers who haven’t a clue what I’m raving about, but there is an old blog you can read that will keep you up to date: The Hijack Shopper (search for it under the blog search bar). More on that later. Before Japan is another Dress Me GC Lunch and the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Launch.

Dress Me GC is heading to Toowoomba on Thursday for an overnight stay to see the Gardens, visit the Empire Theatre, do some golf thing (God help me – last time I attempted golf was in 1997, and I wrapped my club around a tree – true story), and wine & dine on Toowoombas local produce. Yippee! All without The Love of My Life and 4 kids!
Regular readers will know that I was the Toowoomba Showgirl, BUT, I also marched in The Carnival of Flowers in 1982 or 1983 for The Rangeville State School Marching Band – playing the Melodica!
Check out the photo! What a shocker! What’s with that hair do? Was I attempting the Sheryl Ladd from Charlies Angels short hair look?

I still have the Melodica. Maybe they might want me back? Do people still play the Melodica? The truth is, I think I could only play “Oh when the Saints, go Marching in…”, and Mary had a little lamb, and because I am so unco-ordinated, I just pretended to play so I could concentrate on marching in time! Oh the joys of being about 10 years old and way out of my depth!
Thank you to Alyssum for her blogging. We look forward to more of your blogs. It’s great to have you – and Stirling – at Dress Me GC Headquarters.
Because It’s going to be freezing in Toowoomba, I would love to take the Seed Trench Coat. Maybe I should?
Talk Tomorrow.
Oh Caz, I remember the melodica!! I found mine not long ago. I remember the caps were so exciting to wear!!
Just gorgeous.
Haha Michelle. Remember those days? Do you still have your Melodica!
I remember you selling some Witchery pants on EBay (BNWT) in the pre blog days – and you had a comment on there that you bought them to go to Japan!! I thought evil thoughts along the lines of…..this chick probably goes skiing in Japan every year!! How funny now I know the full story!
When is that next DressMeGC lunch?? I’ve got to do better in my attempts to get there. At least so I can say Bon Voyage in person.
BTW way so jealous you’re going to Japan (again) …..I’ve just booked a weekend in Canberra LOL!
As the famous brother who is reading a blog. The weather will be hot hot hot and very hot, so wear cool clothes and it’s like no other heat you have experience.
