Hello and Welcome Back! It’s been a chaotic few weeks. I’d like to say that I’ve been sitting poolside in Bali sipping cocktails and swanning around, but the reality is quite the opposite. Dress Me GC has been working! I’ve been working a few days a week in retail at Jay Pask Boutique, hosting the Dress Me GC lunch at Versace, and still keeping up with my full time job of being a wife, and mother/taxi driver to four children. Fortunately Mr Wirra Wirra Churchblock has been a constant companion.

There is so much to tell you all that I’m not sure where to start. The biggest news at Dress Me GC Headquarters is that I’m running in the Gold Coast Half Marathon this week end despite not training for it. Yes I am an idiot, and yes It’ll be really hard, but reality is that I have no excuse.
As the GC Marathon date approaches I can’t stop thinking about Scott & Sarah Sullivan and the MND & Me Foundation. They worked tirelessly to raise funds and both ran the event every year. Despite having MND Scott ran the half twice (2011, 2012) and last year he ran the 5.6k. Regular blog readers will remember Sarah blitzing the Full Marathon (42ks) last year!

Say no more. Stop talking and get running! I ran the half in 2011 and 2012 and last year had a great time on the side line cheering everyone one, including blog follower Josephine who ran the Full Marathon. I have not run more than 12-15ks since 2103. I run 10ks every week – sometimes twice a week – 21ks is along way! I’ve decided to not think about it and just run! I’ll run like a turtle or tortoise or whatever….I’ll crawl home if I have to….but ill do it one way or another.
The best part about it is Dress Me GC gets to raise $ for MND &Me Foundation. Here’s the link: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/carolyn-waller
No donation is too small and every cent adds up! I am amazed at the generosity and kindness so far. It’s been highly emotional.
Yesterday I hit Marina Mirage with Life Saver & BFF Neighbour and bought Lorna Jane socks for the run, and bought these Seed Espadrilles. Nothing like a bit of impulse shopping!

Talk Tomorrow.
Good luck DressMeGC! You’ll be fine, the best thing about no training is no expectations….I have no doubt you’ll be more than fine. At least it’s a couple of hours away from the usual demands on a wife and mother of 4. I think that’s why so many Mums are in to long distance running.
I thought you were anti LJ!! The best socks I’ve got at the moment are some I bought from Woolies online.
Love the espadrilles. I bought my first pair last summer and love them, they suit me more than a ballet flat I decided. Just wondering if yours wear out quickly too? Was thinking of a leather pair for the cooler months and Seed has the best.
Good luck on the weekend. Maybe we can do the full next year, I need some time out from the kids!!
Those socks look like they’ll go the distance!
